Foreign tourists who pay in dollars in hotels and travel agencies are exempt from the 19% tax on value added (I.V.A). This benefit is only for foreigners who do not reside in Chile and is made effective by presenting the Unique Migratory Card (TUM) that accredits them as tourists.
